32 oz. can pork and beans
1 lrg. onion – chopped fine
3/4 cup ketchup
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 Tbl prepared yellow mustard
1 tsp. distilled white vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/2 lb. raw bacon (optional, but recommended)
Combine all ingredients, except bacon, in a 2 quart casserole dish.
Top beans with strips of bacon in a crisscross pattern.
Cover with aluminum foil.
Bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours.
Remove foil for last 30 minutes of baking.
