Simple French Vanilla Soufflé
Ingredients
3/4 cup whole milk
3 tbsp granulated sugar, divided
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 large egg yolks
4 large egg whites
Pinch of salt
Butter and sugar for ramekins
Directions
Butter and sugar four ramekins. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Heat milk; mix with yolks, sugar, and flour, then cook until thick. Add vanilla and let cool.
Beat egg whites with salt to soft peaks. Gradually add sugar and beat to stiff peaks.
Gently fold whites into the base. Divide into ramekins, and bake until puffed and golden, 15-18 minutes.
Dust with powdered sugar and enjoy immediately.
