Black Pepper Sauce
Ingredients
1 cup chicken broth, or beef broth
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons oil
¼ small onion, finely diced
3 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 heaping tablespoon coarse black pepper
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
Directions
In a bowl, combine the chicken broth and cornstarch until evenly mixed.
Heat a little oil in a pan over low heat. Sauté the onions and garlic together until the onions are soft and aromatic, before they start to brown. Add the black pepper and stir well to combine.
Stir in the chicken broth mixture, followed by the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Mix well.
Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 1 minute, or to your desired consistency.
Taste and season with more salt or sugar if needed.
