Cheesy Garlic Bread Loaf
Ingredients
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour (spooned & leveled)
1 tbsp granulated sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
½ tsp fine sea salt
3 cups freshly shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup whole milk
1 large egg
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
Buttery Topping:
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
¼ tsp garlic powder
⅛ tsp fine sea salt
A pinch of onion powder
A pinch of dried parsley
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with nonstick spray, covering the corners and sides.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the cheddar cheese until well coated.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and egg. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently. Finally, add the melted butter and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
While the bread is baking, mix the melted butter with garlic powder, salt, onion powder, and parsley.
As soon as the bread is out of the oven, brush the warm loaf with the garlic butter topping. Allow it to cool for 5 minutes in the pan before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Cut into thick slices and serve warm.
