Mediterranean Ginger Water
Ingredients
1–2 inches fresh ginger root, peeled
2 cups water
Ice cubes (optional)
1–2 tsp honey or date syrup (optional)
1–2 tsp fresh lemon juice (optional)
Fresh herbs (optional): rosemary or mint
Directions
Slice or lightly crush the fresh ginger to release its oils.
Add ginger to 2 cups of water.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5–10 minutes (longer = stronger).
Remove from heat and strain out the ginger.
Let it cool to room temperature.
Pour into a glass over ice.
Add honey and lemon juice if desired.
Garnish with rosemary or mint.
