Apple Chess Pie

Ingredients

1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
4 eggs
1 (14-ounce) can Sweetened Condensed Milk (NOT evaporated milk)
1 cup applesauce
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1/2 cup shredded all-purpose apple
3 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons cornmeal

Directions

Preheat oven to 425°F. Bake pie crust For 8 minutes; remove from oven. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F.

In large bowl, beat eggs. Add remaining ingredients except pie crust; mix well. Pour into prepared crust.

Bake 40 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean. Cool. Serve warm or chilled. Garnish as desired. Store leftovers covered in refrigerator.
