Gougères – French Cheese Puffs

Ingredients

1/2 cup (120ml) water
1/2 cup (120ml) milk
1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
4 large eggs
1 cup (100g) Gruyère cheese, grated
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp black pepper

Directions

Heat milk, water, butter, and salt. Stir in flour, then add eggs.

Fold in Gruyère cheese, nutmeg, and black pepper.

Pipe onto a baking sheet and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 22-25 minutes.

Enjoy fresh, or reheat later for a crispy texture!
